[VIDEO] Mike Epps: I Opened the Door For Kevin Hart & Katt Williams. He’s My Little Brother.
Was the recent beef between comedic actors Kevin Hart and Mike Epps real or simply a publicity stunt?
According to Mike Epps, their verbal spat wasn’t a pre-planned spoof. While he does affectionately refer to Kevin, he says that he opened doors for him and Katt Williams. When asked by one of the hosts at Dish Nation, whether or not his recent comments were simply jokes, Mike replied:
This is real. I’m NeNe Leakes and Kevin Hart is Porsha. Nah, I’m just kiddin’.
He continued:
Kevin Hart is my little brother. Man, I ain’t got nothing against Kevin Hart. You know what I’m sayin’. I opened the doors for Kevin Hart. You know what I’m sayin’, Kevin Hart use to open up on my shows and you know, before there was a Kevin Hart or Katt Williams or any of these little dudes there was a Mike Epps. Before it was any of them little dudes…Rickey you know what the grind is. You know what I’m sayin’. I got love. I’m happy for Kevin, man. That’s my little brother.
Watch the clip.
As previously reported, during an interview with K104 in Dallas, Epps was asked who was the most over-rated comedian. And he responded that he believed Hart fell into that category.
Kevin later responded on Instagram
Hey @eppsie don’t wake up this monster pimp. If you want me to be honest, I’m showing you what you should of did when you had your shot at success!!!! Oooooh Killlleeeemmmm…. You do clubs & small theaters… I DO ARENA’S man. You do small movies….I DO MOTION PICTURES & SEQUELS!!! And an exchange between both men sparked. Nonetheless, the two seemed to have moved on. P.S. Do you their public spat was real or orchestrated? [Dish Nation]

I agree with Mike Epps. Kevin Hart needs to humble himself. He definitely isn’t one of the great comedians. He is having a great moment right now but that’s it. The same short jokes, one-dimensional actor. And for him to go off on Mike Epps for just stating his opinion (which he didn’t express in a rude way) just shows how much this lifestyle has gone to his head.
I dont think Mike Epps is funny at all, anymore. He had his time and he’s still doing the same lame jokes from the time. Each time he has come to my city, Ive heard that his opening acts were way funnier than him and that people walked out during his comedy set.
Kevin is right- he is doing what Mike Epps shouldve done, which is capitalize off of his “moment”. Kevin Hart is silly- like a class clown. He may not be hilariously funny but he is simple enough to keep me laughing with snot and tears! LOL
