[EXCLUSIVE] Hollywood Exes’ Shamicka Lawrence On: Being Called A ‘Hood Rat’, Andrea Kelly’s Troubled Marriage + Predictions for ‘Atlanta Exes’

Shamicka Lawrence: Yes I’ve spoken to my Drea, she’s doing well. She’s doing well ya know, under the circumstances. She’s a strong woman, she will bounce back, this too shall pass.

Jasmine BRAND: Are you surprised or were you surprised?

Shamicka Lawrence: I was I was um because I got to know Brian a little bit more and he was a nice guy so you know I was surprised .

Jasmine BRAND: Ok so moving on from them so, I want to ask you about your love life because you made a comment that you tried to date before the season started or before your first season on the show?

Shamicka Lawrence: Before this season started.

Jasmine BRAND: How did that go?

Shamicka Lawrence: Uh I’m single again! And I just think for me there’s a lot of things in my life I won’t stand for anymore. Being married for 6 and a half years, I was 20 years old so I got a chance to learn certain things you know by trial and error. What I will take and what I won’t take; uum I just don’t like games. I don’t like a man that plays games . If you’re over 40 years old, you have to know what you want in life and you need to know that you’re not going to come up off of me. I need a man that is my equal, my partner, my support system just as I am his. I just don’t settle.

Jasmine BRAND: You felt like he was an opportunist?

Shamicka Lawrence: Pretty, much yeah.

Jasmine BRAND: Who hooked you up?

Shamicka Lawrence: Sheree [Fletcher] did! Sheree and Terrell, they did! But she apologized to me I don’t know how many times because you don’t know someone until you know someone ya know? In a relationship, you know that person as a friend, but you don’t know that person as another person as a person being in a relationship. You know it wasn’t their fault but you know, trial and error.

Jasmine BRAND: How does a man compete when ya know, you were married to someone who was really big and who was well known and has money, how does a man compete if he wants to peak your interests?

Shamicka Lawrence: I don’t compare myself, well I guess, let me take that back, it is intimidating for some men. If you are intimidated, I don’t need you to step to me and its true. If you’re intimidated, if you don’t have confidence in who you are, I can’t deal with it. That’s just one of the things I won’t deal with anymore. So you know what’s funny I don’t get a lot men coming up to me wanting to date me, I don’t know if they intimidated but they probably are but I am so not “Hollywood,” I am so not “Hollywood”. I wear my jeans, my t-shirt with my babies all the time, I’m just me. God will send the right man to me when he feels it’s the time.

Jasmine BRAND: If God were to send a man, what kind of characteristics?

Shamicka: I love a man with swag but I don’t like a cocky man. I can’t stand a cocky man. I like a man that knows what he wants, a loving man, a man that knows how to put it down, emotionally. You know just being attentive to me. And someone that is done playing games. I just want a partner, someone to laugh with, sit and do nothing with, cry with if I need to, I just need a friend and all that follows.

Jasmine BRAND: Do you prefer black or are we open to the rainbow or do we have a preference?

Shamicka Lawrence: I prefer a chocolate man but I’m not going to sit there and say, “ I only want” I’m open. I think I’m open.
