[Personal Post] My Hair Make-Over By Celebrity Hair Stylist Kiyah Wright
I have a VERY personal confession to make. I hate doing my hair, which is really no big deal for a girl who spends most of her time behind-the-scenes [by the way, for 10 years I wore locs, so I’ve become accustomed to a low maintenance head]. The thing is, since the site’s inception, I opted for a hairstyle that demands a ton of color. Tons of blonde and a bit of pink to be exact.
For the last year or so, I’ve slowly but surely crawled from behind my laptop to do sit-down interviews, hit up a few screenings, etc. In between working long hours and not really taking care of my hair as I should, I’ve failed at keeping healthy hair. I blame myself. It just wasn’t a priority.
After doing box braids for almost a year (to give my hair a ‘break’ of sorts), I decided to venture out of my comfort zone. In my quest for how can I switch-up my style for a bit, I discovered Emmy-Award winning hair stylist, Kiyah Wright. Actually, I ‘discovered’ her on OWN’s docu-series *Love In the City and then google’d the hell out of her.
After a brief conversation, she decided that I needed to a ‘MUZE MAKEOVER’! Check out my newest hair journey, compliments of Kiyah. Watch the video on the next page!
