[EXCLUSIVE] Oprah – Hit With Fed Lawsuit Over Chicken Wing Reality Show
The company states they trademarked the name “WING-MEN” for their online show. However, they say that on July 9, 2014, in a press release on its website, OWN announced the premiere of a scripted entertainment program on its network, also titled WINGMEN, which features two best friends and their “small-town food truck business selling a revolutionary twist on a culinary classic: stuffed chicken wings”.
The lawsuit says that Oprah’s use of the phrase is going to cause confusion especially since it’s based on the same premise, chicken wings.
The company filed suit demanding OWN be found in intentional violation of trademark infringement, an injunction against OWN from using the name for her soon to be released show, and attorney fees.
