Wendy Williams Show Hits Season High + Marvel Names Chadwick Boseman First Black Superhero
And in other news, actor Chadwick Boseman is making history! The 31-year-old actor (who played James Brown in Get On Up) will be the first African-American superhero to lead a stand-alone Marvel tentpole in 2017’s Black Panther.
According to Deadline, he’s rumored to have signed a lucrative five-film deal that begins with 2016’s Captain America: Civil War continues through Marvel’s just-unveiled Phase 3 lineup.
Reportedly, Chad is the first to get his own standalone. There have been unconfirmed reports that Anthony Mackie and his supporting Falcon character will take over the Captain America shield from Chris Evans in some capacity after Avengers 3. Sweet! [Deadline, The Hollywood Reporter]
