(EXCLUSIVE) Machine Gun Kelly Settles Bottle Throwing Lawsuit With Security Guard
theJasmineBRAND.com exclusively reports, Machine Gun Kelly (real nameRichard Colson Baker) has settled his legal battle with a security guard accusing him of assault, signing a confidential agreement with the man days before the case was scheduled to go before a jury in Florida Court.
In 2012, A security guard named William Long filed a federal lawsuit against the rapper. He accused MGK of using a liquor bottle as a weapon during a massive bar brawl which caused him finger to be sliced open.
Long explained that that MGK threw a bottle at him and the shrapnel nearly sliced off his finger. He claimed to have to spend 8 days in the hospital and have 2 separate surgeries. He filed suit for unspecified damages. MGK fired back claiming the security
guard had testified multiple times he isn’t sure how he got injured and the bar manager even testified he never saw MGK throw a bottle that hit Long.
He does admit that he threw a bottle but claims it was not intended to hit any person in particular and he says the bottle hit the DJ not Long. MGK points out that the security guard testified he had been hit with many bottles throughout his 35-year career and says he should have known it was dangerous to intervene during the bar brawl.
The case was scheduled to go to trial on November 10th in Federal Court out in Florida
However, MGK didn’t seem to fond of the idea of having the case presented to a jury because on November 5th docs were filed in the case that states the rapper has reached a confidential settlement agreement with the security guard. Long’s legal team filed docs stating that the case has been settled and a mutually agreeable release and confidential settlement agreement has been worked out. They are asking for the trial to be taken off the calendar and they no longer need to have a trial.
