(Exclusive) Nicci Gilbert Reveals New Docu-Series ‘From The Bottom Up’
Nicci Gilbert has come a long way from her Brownstone singing start to R&B Divas and now she’s reemerging back to the scene — but this time behind the camera. While there’s still a bit of drama surrounding an intense legal battle with TV One, she’s making new moves. theJasmineBRAND.com has exclusively learned that she’s signed a joint venture deal with Queen Latifah. Exactly what does that mean? The quick and dirty is that she’ll be producing a few TV and film projects.
The first, which we’ve got the inside scoop on, is a docu-series titled, From The Bottom Up. The premise behind the show is to give viewers a real perspective of what life is like when you have everything, lose it all, and work to get back to the top. Sitting solely in the producer/director seat this time, Gilbert is capturing five controversial women’s stories and she’s following them as they try to redeem themselves after their negative decisions made headlines and they lost it all. theJasmineBRAND.com, spoke to Gilbert exclusively getting details on her new venture and docu-series. Nicci Gilbert: It’s a docu-series and it follows women who are very successful. It’s a group of women who a lot of people will be very familiar with and they were very successful and some situation occurred in their lives and everything literally fell apart.
