(EXCLUSIVE) Machine Gun Kelly Accused of Lying to Court, Backing Out of Settlement Agreement
According to the docs, he does admit that he threw a bottle but claims it was not intended to hit any person in particular and he says the bottle hit the DJ not Long. MGK points out that the security guard testified he had been hit with many bottles throughout his 35-year career and says he should have known it was too dangerous to intervene during the bar brawl.
The case was scheduled to go to trial on November 10th in federal court out in Florida. Then on November 5th, docs were filed in the case that states the rapper had reached a confidential settlement agreement with the security guard. Both parties asked for the trial to be taken off the court calendar.
However, the security guard filed docs on November 20th demanding the court sanction MGK severely for backing out of the agreement they reached. He explains that the rapper acted, “falsely, fraudulently, willfully and in bad faith” in an attempt to delay the trial — accusing him of never having any intention to sign the settlement agreement they had verbally agreed to prior to taking the trial off the court calendar.
The federal court judge ordered that MGK must appear for the newly scheduled trial date of December 8th. The judge noted if the rapper doesn’t show up he will grant a default in favor of the security guard and award him damages in the case.
