An Emotional Nicki Minaj Talks Split With Safaree Samuels, Says Her Career Broke Them Up

She’s spoken about it on wax and now she’s opening up even more. Nicki Minaj is publicly discussing the break-up that she recently had with her ex-boyfriend, Safaree “ScaffBeezy” Samuels.

In an interview with Power 105’s Angie Martinez, for the first time Nicki speaks candidly and even gets emotional about what she feels ruined what they had. In a vulnerable moment, she says:

I don’t think people realize it’s not just a relationship or breakup. That was a humongous part of my life…It is something that I am dealing with publicly and it’s not easy. I’m also not gonna joke about it or try to disrespect him and try to act like he didn’t mean the world to me and still doesn’t mean the world to me. I’m just figuring it out.
