Alpha Kappa Alpha Suspends Members After ‘Sorority Sisters’ Appearance
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated has officially suspended two members that appear on VH1’s ‘Sorority Sisters‘. According to the sorority’s web site, both April McCrae and Rwanda Joy Hammond (who are both cast members) were suspended on December 26, 2014. The expiration of the suspension is listed as July 15, 2016.
As previously reported, the non-scripted show gives VH1 viewers a rare glimpse into the unique world of ATL Greek life. The cast includes nine women who are both friends and sisters (or ‘sorors’) from historically black colleges and universities in Atlanta.
