[INTERVIEW] Kelly Price Requests Privacy For Bobbi Kristina, Denies Stealing Whitney Houston Tribute Event
Singer and songwriter Kelly Price spoke emotionally about late friend Whitney Houston, asking for prayers for her daughter Bobbi Kristina while a hosting a pre-Grammy party in Hollywood. Days before her death in 2012, Whitney joined Kelly onstage at a pre-Grammy party to sing what became her final duet, “Yes, Jesus Loves Me.”
During a recent interview with theJasmineBRAND.com correspondent, @SmithWorldWide and other press, Price explained the significance of the For The Love Of R&B: A Tribute To Whitney Houston event,
It is important to be here tonight because this is an incredible genre of music. I personally believe that it is under appreciated and underexposed these days and so this was created to be a GRAMMY week platform that gives us the opportunity to recognize each other for what we do and pick a person that we want to celebrate.
So this year, as we recognize the GRAMMY nominees in the R&B category, we are going to celebrate those who have been making this music for decades, who we model ourselves after and hope to be as great as and then we tribute my dear friend, Ms.Whitney Houston.
While speaking to media, she made it imperative for supporters and everyone to keep the Brown/Houston family in your prayers and give them privacy.
Seeing Bobbi Kristina over a year ago, but still in communication with the family, she passionately explains:
As much as I can say is that absolutely by their request that we want everybody to continue to pray. Bobbi Kris is fighting for her life. I dare not say much more than that but I do ask for
