‘Blood, Sweat and Heels’ Star Demetria Lucas Says Being a “Working Woman” in Reality TV is “Revolutionary” [VIDEO]
I’m very comfortable being strong. I was raised to be opinionated and I had a voice and I had something to say. And it’s just weird to me because I think if I were a guy, none of these conversations — I would be a boss. I would be assertive. I would be appreciated and respected. But because I am a woman, I am excepted to do everything to be liked. I am supposed to fall in with the crowd, and be part of the group or something like that. And, you know, well-behaved women don’t make history.
Demetria’s journey throughout the show includes some beef and drama, but also details her journey to marriage with her now husband Greg.
How she manages success and relationships:
I’ve surrounded myself with women who were always successful, and they hard partners and they had marriage — my mother for instance, my grandmother for instance, so this isn’t a foreign concept to me.
