And in other news, on Monday, May 11th, Oscar and Grammy Award winning singer John Legend alongside director Gillian Laub, hosted the premiere screening of the HBO documentary Southern Rites, at Sunshine Cinema in New York City.

Directed by acclaimed photographer Gillian Laub and executive-produced by John Legend, Troy Carter and Mike Jackson, the 90-minute documentary examines race relations, a segregated prom, politics and the killing of an unarmed young black man, Justin Patterson, that will forever bind the residents of Montgomery County and Toombs County in Southeast Georgia together.
