Darrin Dewitt Henson Talks 6 Month Marriage + Beef With Columbus Short
While most of us were introduced to Darrin Dewitt Henson as Lem on ‘Soul Food’, many of us were unaware of his killer dancing and choreography skills. In fact, the 43-year-old Bronx-bread talent worked with a plethora of A-list singers like Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys and NSYNC. And now, he’s returned to the big screen with Chocolate City. In his latest interview with the Hip Hop Socialite, Darrin spills a bit of tea about his love life (he had quiet lived, 6 month marriage); plans for a Chocolate City 2 sequel and his social media fall-out with actor Columbus Short.

ON IF THERE WILL BE A CHOCOLATE CITY SEQUEL:
Yeah, absolutely. They’re talking about it already because it’s so successful, so they’re talking about a sequel. Absolutely.
ON GETTING MARRIED LAST YEAR (AND DIVORCED SIX-MONTHS LATER):
It was great – I also got divorced. You know it’s beautiful. We’re really good friends, we have a beautiful daughter together, and I think I just got married out of haste and met someone really wonderful, but I wasn’t really ready. And again, we’re really good friends. We just had a huge family gathering; it was all love and hugs and kisses, and we’re amazing friends. We’re family now. It was a six-month marriage.
ON HIS OTHER PROJECTS AND NEW RELATIONSHIP:
I have another film coming out, I am dating again and – one person – I think the world is getting ready to find out who that is very, very soon. The world will see soon. We won’t be able to hide it, so, yes [she is a celebrity too], and we really, really, really care
