She also stated that when she was asked last year, she didn’t get the official green light until September:

Now, have I gotten my pick-up letter yet? No, I have not. I’m okay with it being the end of the road if it is, but you never know! It’s not over til the fat lady sings, and I haven’t heard her sing yet.

At this point, it’s pretty clear that NeNe will not be returning for season 8. According to ABC News, 46-year-old Facts Of Life actress, Kim Fields may be the latest addition to the franchise. She’s yet to confirm the news, but has stated to the outlet that the speculation is:

intriguing, but since there’s actually no deal, it’s just all rumors.
