Michael B. Jordan: “I only want to go out for roles that were written for white characters.”
Jordan’s career continues to thrive as his movie roles continue to grow. More fame and less privacy usually come along with that territory. He recalls getting a lot more attention, and people starting to treat him different (in a good way). His mother recalls family and friends she hasn’t heard from in a long time calling her now.
On fame:
I’m from North Jersey, bro. I love real people, bro. I come from nothing. I come from sleeping in the kitchen with my family with the oven open to keep us warm during the winter, ya know? When you come from that background, all this extra stuff is just…extra stuff, you know? If somebody’s not real with you, you can tell.
At the end of the interview, Jordan mentioned he wanted people to think of him when they mentioned his name not “the other guy”. Well, Michael B. Jordan, it looks like you’re well on your way! Click here for the full interview.
