Will Smith & Jada Pinkett-Smith Slammed by Janet Hubert: You ain’t Barack & Michelle Obama. [VIDEO]

Janet Hubert-Slams Will Smith-Jada Pinkett-Smith-the jasmine brand

It’s no secret, Janet Hubert (who once played Aunt Viv on the Fresh Prince of Bel Air) is no fan of Will Smith. So it comes as no surprise, that she has an opinion of Will and his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith boycotting this year’s Oscar’s. On Monday, she released a YouTube video criticizing the couple. Referring to Jada as ‘Miss Thing’, Janet states:

Does your man not have a mouth of his own with which to speak? I find it ironic that somebody who has made their living and has made millions and millions of dollars from the very people that you’re talking about boycotting just because you didn’t get a nomination, just because you didn’t win?. That’s not the way life works, baby.

Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith arrive at Variety's Creative Impact Awards and 10 Directors to Watch Brunch 2016 Palm Springs International Film Festival

She continues:

You ain’t Barack and Michelle Obama. And y’all need to get over yourselves. You have a huge production company that you only produce your friends and family and yourself. So you are a part of Hollywood, you are part of the system that is unfair to other actors. So get real.

Janet also claims that while they all worked together on Fresh Prince, she approached Will about the cast coming together to ask for a group raise. She states that she was snubbed by Will for the suggestion.

We understand that Will & Jada are not President & First Lady Obama but SOMEONE has to stand up to the tomfoolery that is taking place in Hollywood. She didn’t mention anything about Spike Lee boycotting. :)

I have to agree with Ms. Hubert. The people who really count toward supporting and acknowledging your accomplishments are not just with the Academy. They are everyday people dealing with everyday issues, just trying to stay alive. How about we kill THAT silence!

She is still bitter about being kicked off The Fresh Prince years ago. Because you speak on one topic, doesn’t mean you don’t care about others. Jada was right on point, and her feelings are valid – as they are hers. And, no one says Girlfriend anymore, Janet. Go sit down!

Janet, why don’t you and Jada, both put your mouth’s together, come down from your mansion’s and come up with some solutions to killing of young black men, increasing job opportunities and supporting the African American people who support your movies and t.v. shows. Stop with all the chatter. I volunteer, I feed the homeless, I mentor all while being a single parent and working fulltime as a R.N. So putup or shutup.

I’m with Janet Hubbard. Did anyone actually listen to the video? When she asked Will Smith to stand with her and the others so they could make more money he said no. Now that will didn’t get nominated EVERYONE is supposed to risk the burgeoning careers for their established ones. Get over it! The Oscars are not fair and everyone knows that! Marissa Tome got an Oscar for My Cousin Vinny, and Leonardo DiCaprio has none. Wills movie was good but Leo’s was better!
