Phaedra Parks Doesn’t Believe Reality TV Ruins Marriages
Self-proclaimed “Southern Belle” of Real Housewives of Atlanta, Phaedra Parks, is a successful lawyer who hasn’t been as successful in love. Parks is currently divorcing her husband, Apollo Nida who is serving an eight year jail sentence for bank fraud and identity theft. In a recent interview with ABC News, Parks stated she isn’t currently dating because she is still married to Nida but she is hopeful for a new love.
She says,
This has not tainted my view on the sanctity of marriage, the importance of marriage, the importance of relationships.
The Georgia native went on to say,
I mean I think I’m a pretty great catch.
When asked about the odds of divorce among couples on the Real Housewives franchise, Parks said,
People are who they are, whether they are on TV or whether they aren’t. Statistically whether you’re on TV or not, 75 percent of marriages in the United States just don’t work. I’m not sure why.
Phaedra’s storyline on the show has been largely centered around her husbands prison sentence and how life for her and her children have changed since he has been away. The reality show camera’s were in tow as she took her two young boys to visit Nida. Glad to know Parks hasn’t been scarred by love. [ABC News]
