Ciara: ‘I decided to trust that God had a plan for me’. + See Her Essence Cover! [Photos]
Spring is in full bloom—and so is Ciara, as Essence’s May cover star. The singer and newly engaged mother opens up about her rise to fame, finding her faith and her own path to happiness in their latest issue. Ciara shares,
I’d always wanted to have my own family. And my pregnancy was planned when I was at a point in my life when I was finally ready to take on the responsibility.
Her son Future, was born May 19, 2014.

That wasn’t necessarily part of my vision. But the moment I realized I was going to be a single mother, I had to reflect and reorganize my thoughts. I decided to trust that God had a plan for me, and move forward one day at a time.
On her relationship with Seattle Seahawks quarterback, Russell Wilson, who she recently became engaged to:
I remember telling my friend the kind of guy I wanted: a God-fearing man with a very fun spirit who loves kids and would really, truly care for me. I was very specific because I do believe you can have it all.

I love her story. This is amazing. I see people trying to put her down but point is, she made a change and now she says she is happy. She has a child, a man that has proposed and who isn’t out here making her look stupid, love, funds and most importantly God in her life. What more could a woman ask for?
I respect her hustle and all she’s endured to get to a better career. But I don’t like how she played the victim after she had a baby, as if Future was responsible for her messy decisions. It takes two to have a child, and protection is always available to us. All that envy and strife towards Future as if he didn’t have a heart, and then God blessed her, which meant the drama could have been avoided. It takes two to have a child. If not for Russell rescuing her, she’d be still dragging Future for no reason. I’m glad she’s in the spotlight so she doesn’t have to rape Future of his fans, notoriety, and his money. Because at the end of the day, that’s all she really wants anyway.
I’m leary of Ciara. Everything seems contrived with her, and I don’t blame Future for not trusting her. She’s trying too hard to reinvent herself after making herself look stupid for several years. She’s not gorgeous or feminine. I am over her after seeing that she refused to mention Future’s name at an awards briefing. Isn’t her baby’s name Future? I think Russ is infatuated with Ciara and he’s not seeing the writing that is on the wall.
I feel what your saying about her.Shes talking about GOD.But,she don’t have no forgiveness in her heart for herself or future.Shes embarrassed because she had a baby and things didn’t work out the way she thought they should.But,You can’t fix that by adding Russell and stir.Shes not the first woman that thought a man was one thing and he wasn’t.I hope she learned whatever it was she was suppose to learn from her mistake.Because if not her and Russell aren’t gonna work either.
She acts like the type who thinks life should be perfect without flaws, and she’s kicked herself emotionally. If she chose to make a baby, then there should be no regrets. Marriage wouldn’t have made her any happier. She’s regretful for not having the real father by her side as husband. In watching her acceptance of the ring from russell, she didn’t seem overjoyed either. I’m sure she will follow thru, but will she be really happy in married life? Time will tell…If only she would stop being a media whore and settle into being a loving mother who can appreciate the man who gave her his seed to raise up.

I am happy for Ciera and I hope things go well for her and Russell. First of all Ciera is a gorgeous black women and very feminine, second of all Future was the one doing the bashing that is why Ciera is taking his sorry butt to court for deformation of character. And how does anyone know she doesn’t have forgiveness in her heart she planned a child and a future with the man she loves and no sooner then the child is born he decides to go in another direction she has the right to be mad what woman wouldn’t be. Because you forgive someone doesn’t mean you have to be their friend. I am sure she has forgiven him and just wants him to be a good dad to his son and keep it moving. Be blessed Ciera and Russell God loves you and if you let him he will use you in a mighty way.
The reason I said she isn’t practicing forgiveness is because of her actions.If she forgave herself and Future she wouldn’t be suing him.She wouldn’t be out here looking like she’s trying to show people how in love she is.We wouldn’t see her as much and she would be living her life in peace away from the cameras.To me Ciara is acting as she has something to prove.And furthermore,For someone who doesn’t have an “active”career right now why do we see her so often?!?Im really not a fan of either one.Im just an observer with an opinion.
i agree. I’m not bashing her, but there seems to be some emotional turmoil inside, some post partum stress or the fear of possibly losing her career to motherhood. If she’s happy she would readily forgive Future for his mixed feelings. If she is really in love with the fiancee, she would find a happy balance with both. She seems willing to give Future a TKO to save her so-called career. Either that, or she’s just greedy for more money.
I love to see a relationship like this in today’s environment. I wish them both luck, success and happiness.
