(EXCLUSIVE) Oxygen Network & Mega Preacher Bishop Noel Jones Accused of Stealing ‘Preachers of LA’
theJasmineBRAND.com exclusively reports, the idea for the hit reality show “Preachers of LA” was stolen by a famous pastor, so claims the woman suing the well-known church leader along with the Oxygen channel — demanding the show be taken off the air immediately due to it being ripped off from her concept.
A woman named Michelle Young filed a federal lawsuit against Oxygen Media & well-known pastor Noel Jones. Young explains she authored her creative concept for a TV show entitled, “The Bible”, back in February 2013. The idea was a religion based reality show.
Later that month, she first met with Noel Jones – a nationally known television personality and sibling of entertainer Grace Jones – who was giving a sermon at a Florida church. She spoke in great detail about her show idea with Noel. He then told her that his church had 17,000 members – most of whom he represented were celebrities who could help with the show – and said he would be back in touch with her.
The woman says she believed that he was to use his connections in Los Angeles and media contacts or his famous sibling Grace Jones to help get the reality show produced. However, the writer says she never heard back from the man.
Then in late 2013, she learned that Noel was working with the Oxygen channel on a religion-based show titled, “Preachers of LA”, which she claims is her entirely her idea and the pastor stole her concept.
Young says the Oxygen show structure is identical to hers in multiple ways including the focus of each episode. She is demanding damages for the copyright infringement and an injunction ordering Oxygen to cease airing episodes of her stolen concept.
