Mariah Carey Explains Why She Still Doesn’t Know J.Lo, Shades Nicki Minaj [VIDEO]
The shade was real last night, on Watch What Happens Live! Mariah Carey, who showed up late for the live show, is said to have thrown a bit of subtle shade in the direction of Jennifer Lopez (aka J.Lo). As you know, Mariah has been adamant that she does not ‘know’ J.Lo. Meanwhile, J.Lo says that they’ve met a few times in the past. Anywho, last night, Andy Cohen asked her about the infamous ‘I don’t know her’ line and Mariah stated,
You know what, I’m very forgetful. Apparently I’m forgetful, because I don’t remember the fact that it was just like, ‘Hi, I’m so-and-so,’ and then move on.
When asked if J.Lo was cool, she stated,
I don’t know her. What am I supposed to say?
See the clip.
She also seemed a bit of shade toward Nicki Minaj, who she worked with a few years ago on American Idol.
When asked by Cohen, during a game called ‘Plead the Fifth’, to say three nice things about Minaj, she stated,
Can you? You know, I always thought it was more important with that situation to not plead the fifth, but to just stay above the fray. Because you don’t want to be déclassé. You just want to move it along.
