Mahershala Ali 1st Muslim To Win Oscar, Viola Davis & ‘Moonlight’ Snag Awards
Congratulations to a few of our favorites that took home Oscars at the 89th Academy Awards ceremony. The annual event honored the best films of 2016. This year, Mahershala Ali became the first Muslim to win an acting Oscar, snagging the Best Supporting Actor for his role in ‘Moonlight’. Viola Davis won for Best Supporting Actress. ‘Moonlight’ won for Best Adapted Screenplay AND Best Picture. See the complete list of winners below.
