1st Look: Ava DuVernay’s “A Wrinkle In Time”
Ava DuVernay is giving the public a first look at her new film, “A Wrinkle of Time.” DuVernay shared images from the film, writing:
The first image I had in my mind was to place a brown girl in the role of Meg, a girl traveling to different planets and encountering beings and situations that I’d never seen a girl of color in. I was interested in that and in a heroine that looked like the girls I grew up with.

“A Wrinkle in Time” is an upcoming American fantasy adventure film directed by Ava DuVernay and written by Jennifer Lee. It is based on the 1962 novel of the same name by Madeleine L’Engle. The film stars Storm Reid, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling, Levi Miller, Deric McCabe, Chris Pine, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Michael Peña, André Holland, Zach Galifianakis, and Oprah Winfrey. The film is scheduled to be released on March 9, 2018 in IMAX.
