EXCLUSIVE: Kenya Moore & Ex Landlord Settle Nasty Eviction Battle
Kenya Moore & Ex Landlord Settle Eviction Battle
theJasmineBRAND.com exclusively reports, Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kenya Moore has reached a settlement with her former landlord who sued the reality star for eviction, with a private deal being signed bringing the years long legal battle to an end.
Here’s the latest: On July 13th, docs were filed by Kenya and her ex-landlord explaining they have reached a mutual agreement that resolves all issues in the case without further litigation. Kenya agreed to dismiss all claims against former landlord Conya Weems and the landlord dropped all allegations against the reality star.
Here’s the backstory: Back in 2013, the BRAVO reality star was sued by her former landlord, Conya Weems, accusing her of late payments on a Georgia rental.
The suit claimed the reality star was $848 short on her rent payment for one month and demanded Kenya be evicted from the rental. The judge originally sided with the landlord until Kenya countersued demanding the $6,000 security deposit be returned and accusing the landlord of evicting her on baseless grounds.
Last year, the judge in the case came back and sided with Kenya by awarding her the return of her $6k and $4,531 in attorney fees. Weems appealed the decision and the case had been pending for months.
