Wendy Williams Claims Cosby Tried To Get Her Fired
Wendy Williams claims Bill Cosby attempted to have her fired. While discussing the sexual assault controversy that’s currently plaguing the legendary comedian, the former radio personality admits that in 1991 and 1992, Cosby tried to get her axed. Apparently, on-air, Wendy had discussed rumors that he had sexually assaulted women.

When asked about the now vintage situation, Wendy says:
No it just…it is what it is. It’s really uncomfortable. If people did not understand what I was saying back in 1992 and 1993 and now all of a sudden they’re coming late to the party. I’m exhausted, I’m moving on.

When pressed to share what happened, she explains,
I’m a young girl, I’m in my twenties, it’s like 1992 or 91. I’m on the air in the morning doing my gossip report, the GM is in his office — this is like seven o’clock in the morning. Cosby is on the phone talking to the GM. The GM is definitely agreeing with Cosby and figuring out what do we do with me.
She says that ultimately, because she was good at her job, she was not fired and was kept at the station.

have to take wendy in doses. she reports allegations but has a tendency to talk and give her personal opinion with bigotry. she has talked reckless about many individuals. we know she can’t handle the bigotry she shows towards others.
A lot of people want her fired. She should consider the type of negative and caustic energy she puts out of the world and how she comes at people. She is provocative and never wants to be accountable in these types of things. I used to support Wendy a great deal, but she seems to get worse and worse and to have a tin ear.
I stopped watching her when she came for Phylicia Rashad when Ms. Rashad was only saying that she has never seen said behavior when around Mr. Cosby which was her experience. Instead of listening to hear what the woman was saying, she twisted her words and said “Bye Phylicia because it appears that she felt it was culturally affordable/what people wanted to hear to show that she was down with them — to the audience that she was really targeting — not black folks to make those statements. Her comments disrespected a woman in our community who has carried herself publicly with a lot of class and dignity, and who has striven to do good work.
She then make very damaging and ignorant comments about Black colleges and invited Roland on her show to help her to get out of that mess and still did not really own up to what she said. A proper apology would have been acceptable, but not Wendy. I now have no respect for her. Hat’s off to Mr. Cosby whose words she also twisted. I don’t blame him for pushing back. Regardless of what he did or did not do, Wendy was wrong and two wrongs do not make a right. Hat’s off to him.
Wendy does her job. How many of you remember these former Gossip Commentators, Rona Barrett and Heda Hopper? They stirred many dirty pots.
I actually remember them very well. They did stir many dirty pots as gossip columnists/commentators do, however, I don’t recall any of them getting so personal as to slut shame someone like Wendy did Rihanna when she stated that her vagina must stink because she dated both Chris Brown and Drake. I also don’t remember any of them making blanket negative and inaccurate statements about HBCU graduates, which almost got her show cancelled. Rona and Heda also got their facts right and could back up the innuendos they put out there. Wendy often goes too far in running her mouth with old news, that isn’t even factual half of the time. Doing her homework/fact checking would be doing her job actually. I do not have a problem with Wendy being a gossip commentator. Her nasty, caustic nature and self-hatred is what I can’t stand.
