Usher: You Have No Proof I Infected You w/ STD

Usher is responding to one of the lawsuits accusing him of passing an STD to a woman he had sexual contact with. The $20 million dollar suit was reportedly filed in April by a woman in Georgia who accuses the singer of infecting her with genital herpes, during a sexual encounter. According to the report, Usher’s defense is that the alleged victim has no proof that he infected her. The court documents also note that her lawsuit says nothing about whether she had been tested prior to their alleged sexual encounter. He says,

A previous sexual partner very well may have already infected her.

The docs note that the woman could have contracted the STD after their alleged encounter. His response to the lawsuit also notes that she assumed the risk of getting herpes by having

casual, unprotected sexual intercourse and/or oral sex.

It’s important to note that the singer did NOT state in the lawsuit that there was no way that he could have given her herpes. The woman filing the lawsuit has yet to identify herself. His team is asking the judge to throw out her lawsuit. Usher has yet to comment publicly.
