Tami Roman: I’m Unhappy Because People Just See Me One Way!
Reality television has had its rounds of success for personalities like Cardi B and Amara La Negra, but in a new episode of The Book of John Gray, Tami Roman is transparent when it comes to explaining the negative tolls reality television has had on her personal life and her daughter, Jazz Anderson’s, musical career.
Roman, an actress, entrepreneur and star on Basketball Wives, has owned up to her actions of misconduct on more than one occasion, but in a new clip she discusses her tough challenges and unhappiness loosely based on a diluted perception of who she is. She says,
I’m unhappy because people just see me one way. And that’s not to say ‘that’s not who I am,’ but it’s not only me.
She further explains,
I have been battling with what’s making my lifestyle comfortable, but that hasn’t actually been making me, as a person on the inside, comfortable.
When asked by Gray, ‘If this isn’t how you want to be portrayed, then why keep doing the show?’, she explains,
I don’t want to not be able to provide for my children, but now when I try to go out and get other opportunities and other revenue streams, people don’t want that girl associated with their projects.
As far as her daughter, Jazz Anderson, Roman sheds a tear when explaining the difficulties she has faced when trying to get her daughter signed. She expresses,
And then it hurts my daughters that people think of me a certain way. My daughter Jazz does music, it took us forever to get her signed because [people say] she’s my kid. You know what I mean, so it’s always a challenge, but I don’t know how to make it better.

This episode of The Book of John Gray is set to premiere Tuesday, March 13th at 9 PM CST on OWN.

She can start by producing her own stuff and allow people to see a different side of her. Her Bonnet Chronicles is a start, but I don’t necessarily care to see her looking like she just rolled out the bed all of the time.
Me neither, but I agree, she needs to be more in charge of how she is portrayed in the media. If you state that you have different layers to you (As we all should) then please showcase those other layers! All we see is gossippy, catty, cigarette smoking Tammy!
