R. Kelly’s Daughter Addresses Father’s Sex Cult Allegations
In wake of the newest allegations against R. Kelly, the singer’s team including his lawyer and publicist, have all allegedly decided to part ways from the self-professed “Piped Piper.” An unnamed Dallas woman claimed Kelly was “grooming her to join his sex cult” filed a civil lawsuit against the singer with the city’s police department.
According to reports, the woman ended her relationship with Kelly in February, but their time together involved
several forms of criminal misconduct by the singer including unlawful restraint, furnishing alcohol and illegal drugs to a minor, and aggravated assault.
Many artists including rapper Vince Staples, who referred to Kelly as a “child molester” during Coachella, have expressed their feelings about the singer and the allegations of him running a sex cult.
The most recent person to chime in about the situation was Kelly’s daughter Joann Kelly aka Buku. Reporters caught up with Buku in Atlanta to get her thoughts on her fathers sexually allegations. She admits that she is tight-lipped because the situation is difficult because it deals with family. She explained,
Honestly, I don’t have much of a comment. It’s very close to my heart its just hard because its family matters. Over all it’s hard. I try not to speak about it too much, but it is what it is.
She was later asked if she and her father are close she responded,
I mean, we are family, so we are going to deal with each other.
