Jay-Z Company Sued – You Owe Us $600k!
Jay-Z (real name Shawn Carter) is facing new legal action. On Thursday (May 3rd) a Scandinavian law firm (called Roschier Advokatbyra AB) and a financial company (called Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken) filed a lawsuit claiming that his company owes them $598,383 for their services.
The pair says that back in 2015, they assisted in helping him purchase of a piece of Tidal. They claim to have spent thousands of hours putting together the music streaming service deal, but Jay-Z made partial payments to both firms.
The lawsuit names S. Carter Enterprises as the defendant. The firm is solely owned by JAY-Z. The suit says,
JAY-Z and Tidal’s co-owners have been described as ‘the 1% of pop music artists who ‘do not answer to corporations. Alas, that approach apparently extends to Carter Enterprises’ bills for the services that facilitated JAY-Z’s ownership of Tidal.
