MAC Reveals Aaliyah Inspired Makeup Collection [Photos]
MAC Cosmetics is releasing their Aaliyah inspired collection just in time for the summer. Over the Memorial Day weekend, the cosmetics brand gave fans a sneak peek at the collection featuring a lipstick, lipglass and bronzer hitting stores later this month.
In a tease to fans about the #AaliyahForMAC collection, MAC is keeping the names of these Aaliyah inspired makeup pieces top secret until the the official release.
MAC made the initial announcement about the collection inspired by the R&B singer in last August. The collection originally started when fans created a change.org petition that was supported by Aaliyah’s brother, Rashad Haughton, along with Missy Elliott, who was her close friend and Aaliyah’s former makeup artist Eric Ferrell. The brand captioned,
Aaliyah is truly one in a million — an unstoppable icon whose groundbreaking work in R&B music and film inspires us all. Today we join her countless fans in celebrating her with the announcement of the M·A·C Aaliyah collection. You made it happen! Stay tuned in 2018. #AaliyahforMAC @aaliyah_haughton_official
MAC Cosmetics is set to release the Aaliyah for Mac Collection online June 20th and in stores June 21st.
