Bad Boys 3 Production To Begin Next Year, Will Smith Officially Signed On & Martin Lawrence Has Yet To Come To Terms

The return of Mike Lowry and Marcus Burnett is looking more and more promising. Sony recently dropped a few breadcrumbs regarding the release of Bad Boys 3: Bad Boys for Life. Reportedly the studio has their sights on rebooting several blockbuster series, including Bad Boys, 21 Jump Street, and Charlie’s Angels. Columbia Pictures president Sanford Panitch commented:

“If we’re going to make another ‘Bad Boys’ after 15 years, it’s got to be next-level great.”

As we previously reported, we exclusively learned that the release date was allegedly set for Jan. 17, 2020. This information falls in line with the new information being reported – that production could begin in 2019, releasing Martin Luther King Jr. weekend in 2020. Actor Will Smith is ready to reprise his role. He confirmed on Instagram this past April, while wishing co-star Martin Lawrence a happy birthday. He said:

“Happy Birthday to the Best Damn partner EVER!!! What you think Marty-Mar? One more time?”

Reportedly, Will has officially signed on and Lawrence has yet to come to terms. Meanwhile, the Gabrielle Union and Jessica Alba-led NBC spinoff series, LA’s Finest, was initially scrapped by the network. The reason was allegedly the hefty $12 million budget to make the show.

However, it was picked up by Charter Communications, as their first scripted series.
Charter and producers Sony Pictures Television has been picked up to series with a 13-episode order for a 2019 premiere on Spectrum’s platform.

The first Bad Boys film was released in 1995, with the sequel following in 2003. Will you be hitting theaters to see Bad Boys 3?
