Swae Lee Wants To Be The First Black Actor To Portray Spider-Man On Film
Swae Lee has set his sights on entering the Spideyverse. According to the rapper, he’s interested in taking his talents to Marvel. Swae Lee was stopped in New York where he was asked about his appearance on the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse soundtrack and whether he’d consider becoming the first black Spider-Man. He stated,
It’s only right that if anyone’s going to be the first black Spider-Main in a real movie it should be me. Especially since I made the soundtrack and the song Miles Morales was singing in the movie. It’s only right that I be the black Spider-Man so Marvel, we need to get together!
In Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, we are introduced to Miles Morales, the first black Spider-Man, who exists in an alternate universe. The film is animated and it appears Swae Lee wants to portray Miles Morales on film. That could possibly work. There’s nothing wrong with dreaming big.
