R.Kelly Asks Media To Take It Easy On Him – I’m Hosting A Party, This Is How I Gotta Get Paid Right Now
R.Kelly is asking the media to take it easy on him. Over the weekend, the 52-year-old singer took to social media announcing that he’s hosting a party in Illinois. He states,
I got an event to do tonight in Springfield, Illinois so I want the media to take it easy on me man, this is how I gotta get paid for right now.
He continues,
So I gotta go do this event, and it’s a party so if you see me in the club with a couple of drinks in my hand, and chilling please, take it easy. Appreciate it y’all.

Kelly is currently facing charges of 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse by the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office (Illinois). The charges allege that from 1998 to 2010, Kelly sexually abused four females, three of whom were teen minors at the time, with evidence including a video provided by Michael Avenatti that allegedly depicts a new crime.
Kelly turned himself in the day the charges were announced. The judge set a $1 million bond, and ordered Kelly to have no contact with any minor under 18 or alleged victim. Kelly pleaded not guilty to all charges, which he called lies.
He was released on bail after two nights in jail. Last month, CBS This Morning broadcast an interview by Gayle King with Kelly, in which Kelly insisted on his innocence and blamed social media for the allegations.
A segment of the interview that attracted media attention was where Kelly stood up, pounded his chest, and made an emotional outburst.
During the same airing, two women who reside with Kelly, whose parents say are brainwashed captives, declared love for Kelly and defended him.
