Van Jones Calls Wendy Williams Out For Questioning Him About His Divorce

Daytime talk show host Wendy Williams had a recent awkward moment with CNN host/activist Van Jones. The moment arose when Wendy asked Van about his impending divorce.

Jones was recently on The Wendy Williams Show to talk about his new CNN docuseries Redemption Project, which is about the restorative justice project. Although, things ultimately turned to his personal life, specifically his divorce, and he was not here for it. As Williams asked him on air about the end of his marriage, he quickly reminded her of her own divorce drama. While telling the audience about Jones’ divorce, Williams said:

“They are getting a divorce. The divorce is not finalized. You still wear your ring.”

To which Jones interjected:

“You got something on your hand, too, so I ain’t talking about that.”

Williams, who was visibly thrown off and surprised by the question, managed to reply:

“Excuse me. This side of the couch is for the asking of the questions. That side is for giving up the information.”

Jones went on to explain that ex-wife Jana Carter is

“my best friend 20 years ago and she’s my best friend today.”

However, that wasn’t the end of the awkward exchange between the two. Even after Jones responded back at Williams about his divorce, she continued to press him about it, asking if he will still wear his wedding ring when he starts dating again.

Jones firmly stated:

“You getting personal man. First of all, I got no dating life…I’m good. I’m just trying to save the world.”
