August Alsina Jokes About Jada Pinkett Smith Romance Rumors In Instagram Post

A few months ago, rumors were swirling regarding an alleged romance between R&B singer August Alsina and actress Jada Pinkett Smith via a song Alsina dropped on YouTube. However, he quickly shot the gossip down and things have been relatively quiet regarding the matter ever since…until now. Alsina recently brought the subject back up in the caption of a recent Instagram post.

August Alsina put out a song titled “Nunya” back in March that immediately had fans speculating and assuming that it was in reference to his rumored romance with close friend, actress Jada Pinkett Smith. Alsina promptly cleared up the online gossip circulating and confirmed that the song had nothing to do with Pinkett Smith at all and that’s are just friends.

At the time, he responded to the rumors, stating:

“Been quiet & still amongst all the noise last week, more so out of respect for Nip?? but I’ve been paying attention to all the theories of conspiracy ???in regard to “NunYa” Remix.. So Here’s To Clarity, The Song is not about Jada. It’s simply JUST A SONG , & a free artistic expression of a made up narrative already put in place by its ORIGINAL format. Thankyou for all of your love around the music & more is to come but please know that Me & my BEST (@jadapinkettsmith )are good!!! & We will always be, 4Life! We’ve been talking eryday while all this has taken place. ?Now yal stop trippin’. lol ..U know We got BiG ??LoVe for the Goddess over on this side.”

Oddly enough, months after the issue was practically forgotten, Alsina himself recently brought it back up with an Instagram post. The post initially contained a caption detailing his intense struggle with allergies, but he removed that caption and replaced it with one stating that his swollen appearance was due to a run-in with Will Smith over Jada.

The initial caption read:

“A glimpse of my Everyday Mood & Life during allergy season. Everything on me is so swollen. & I’m really trying to do this music s**t for yal but my allergies are tryna take me OUT! I literally want to shoot myself already (really, but not really) I’ve been Benadryl drunk everyday, watching my diet and taken just about every allergy medicine possible…If you have tips, please help!”

And here’s what he changed it to:

“Will finally caught up to me about all that Jada crap that was going on in the news.  & let’s just say, he whooped my axs!! Guess that ALI training really paid off :)”
