The Lion King Releases New Trailer Ft. Beyoncé as Nala
The new trailer for the Jon Favreau-directed live-action 1994 remake of The Lion King which features the likes of Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, Alfre Woodard, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and John Oliver has arrived. The latest teaser features the voice of Beyoncé as Nala.

The renewed version revisits the opening scene as an adult Nala reunites with her childhood friend Simba who is played by Glover, but his voice has yet to appear. Nala urges him to return home to Pride Rock, overthrow the tyrannical rule of Scar and take his rightful place as king. In the voice that has the beyhive in a frenzy, Nala says,
“Simba, you have to take your place as king. We need you. Come home.”

In an recent interview, Glover shares how the Favreau’s methods bringing together new and old.
“It was really amazing. I’ve never seen anything like it. To be able to have that type of mobility in an actual world is the first of its kind, I think. How he melded new and old tech was really inspiring.”

The Lion King comes out on July 19, just in time for the original’s 25th anniversary.
