Forbes List Of Richest Self-Made Women: Oprah #10 W/ $2.6 Billion Net Worth, Kylie Jenner #23 W/ $1 Billion Net Worth + Rihanna Lands At #37 & Beyonce At #51
“All the women who independent, throw your hands up at me!” Forbes just released their coveted list of the year’s richest self-made women, showcasing the ladies dominating their respective fields and bringing home the coins to prove it. A few of our favorites made the list!
#10 – Oprah Winfrey – $2.6 Billion
What’s better than one billion? Two! Queen O tops the list again, with her TV empire at OWN Network continuing to crank out hit shows.
#23 – Kylie Jenner – $1 Billion
Kylie Cosmetics has been dominating beauty brands since its 2017 debut, but not without controversy. She recently expanded her empire with a new skincare line including a walnut exfoliating scrub, which many estheticians say completely disobeys the rules of Skincare 101.
Kylie’s seat on the Forbes list also brings us back to the conversation of whether or not she should be considered “self-made.” When she made the list last year as the ceiling-shattering youngest billionaire in history, social media immediately came for her neck. Even Dictionary.com posted a friendly reminder.
She, later, admitted that “self-made” isn’t exactly the best way to describe her success. She said:
“I can’t say I’ve done it by myself. If they’re just talking finances, technically, yes, I don’t have any inherited money. But I have had a lot of help and a huge platform.”
#37 – Rihanna – $600 Million
“That Rihanna reign just won’t let up!” Her groundbreaking 40 shades of Fenty Beauty foundation not only pays the bills, but keeps us wanting more.
#51 – Beyonce – $400 Million
Queen Bey has continued to stop the world with her record-breaking album and tour sales, and most recently, her Netflix special, “Homecoming.” She’s even schooling us on how to invest, with news of how she flipped a performance check by requesting equity in Uber stock. You go, Mrs. Carter!
Tennis champion Serena Williams also made a historic addition to the list. She is the first athlete to make the list at #80. Here are a few other familiar faces on the Forbes’ Richest Self-Made Women list:
#39 Madonna
#46 Celine Dion
#57 Kim Kardashian-West
#80 Serena Williams
