EXCLUSIVE: Ray J Stars In New Scripted Show “Pump” W/ Jennifer Freeman, Michael Jai White & McKinley Freeman
theJasmineBRAND exclusively reports, Ray J (real name William Raymond Norwood Jr.) is securing more TV time and it’s not in the reality TV realm. Sources tell us that he’s allegedly been cast as the lead in a new scripted series called Pump (working title). Created by Corey Grant and Lanett Tachel, the series has also reportedly cast Jennifer Freeman, Michael Jai White, Lanett Tachel, Christian Villalobos, McKinley Freeman, Redaric Williams, Masika Kalysha and Cynthia Rodriguez.
We’re told that the series allegedly follows a famous fitness training mogul (played by Ray J) whose career takes a turn and is forced to go back where he started, trying to claim his spot, but to his surprise, everything and everyone has moved on without him. Picking up the pieces has never been harder.
Filming is currently underway for the project. There has been no word on a potential network associated with the project as of yet.
Ray J’s other scripted TV credits include: The Sinbad Show (1993–1994), The Enemy Within (1994 TV movie), Moesha (Guest in 1996, seasons 4–6 main cast (1999–2001), One on One (2005–2006) and Shark (TV series).
He’s remained a fixture on Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood since 2014.
