Jussie Smollett Threatens To Sue City of Chicago For Malicious Prosecution
Jussie Smollett Threatens To Sue Chicago
Jussie Smollett isn’t taking Chicago’s lawsuit against him without a fight. The former Empire star is now reportedly threatening to file his own action against the city. Chicago is currently suing Smollett for the cost of an investigation of what he said was an attack against him. While charges for allegedly filing a police report were dropped, Chicago police and even mayor Rahm Manual are convinced Smollett made the whole thing up. So, they’re suing for roughly half a million over the resources they put out to investigate Smollett’s report.
But the city could be facing a lawsuit from Smollett
“for their conduct underlying the arrest and their conduct after.”
Ultimately, this could be a case of malicious prosecution.
Smollett has adamantly denied making up the attack that reportedly happened in late January.
While he said he was a victim of a racist and homophobic hate crime, it later came out that the men who attacked him were allegedly Nigerian brothers Abel and Ola Osundairo.

Interestingly enough, the brothers told police that Smollett paid them to attack him. They were also seen buying items like a rope that were allegedly used in the attack.
Do you think Jussie would have a solid case? Tell us in the comments.
