Tracy Morgan Joins Eddie Murphy in ‘Coming 2 America’
More A-listers are joining Paramount’s “Coming 2 America”.

Semmi and Prince Akeem of ‘Coming To America’
According to reports, Tracy Morgan has been cast in the sequel to Eddie Murphy’s 1988 classic film.
As previously reported, the sequel will follow Akeem (Eddie Murphy) as he returns to New York to find his long-lost son and groom him to become his successor to the throne. Morgan will play the son’s uncle, a hustler named Reem whose sister (played by Leslie Jones) gave birth to the unwitting heir after a one night stand with Akeem.
The cast also includes Kiki Layne who will play Akeem’s daughter; Wesley Snipes who will play General Izzi, a ruler of a nation bordering Prince Akeem’s home; along with Rick Ross and Teyana Taylor.

Shari Headley, who played Lisa McDowell and Vanessa Bell Calloway who played Iman Izzi will both be reviving their roles. The original cast members will also return including, James Earl Jones, Arsenio Hall, Paul Bates and John Amos.
“Coming 2 America” will be directed by Craig Brewer and produced by Murphy, Kevin Misher and Kenya Barris.
