Dream Hampton Responds To Dave Chappelle’s Claims He Turned Down ‘Surviving R. Kelly’ ‘Narcissism Is A Hellofa Drug’
Dream Hampton is giving us a little fact check. The producer, who was the brains behind Lifetime’s controversial Surviving R. Kelly documentary, addressed comedian Dave Chappelle’s claims that he turned down an offer to appear on the special.
In his latest standup special on Netflix, Sticks & Stones that was released Monday, Chappelle doesn’t hold back in giving his thoughts on celebrities like R. Kelly and Michael Jackson who have been accused of sexual abuse.
He said,
“This is the worst time ever to be a celebrity. You’re gonna be finished. Everyone’s doomed. Michael Jackson’s been dead for 10 years, and this n***a’s got two new cases.”
He said of Kelly,
“I’m pretty sure he did that s***”
But he added that he refused to be a part of Surviving R. Kelly. He claimed Hampton asked him if he wanted to make an appearance, and said he forgot about it until Hampton was on a press tour stating that Chappelle was one of the male celebrities who didn’t want to be on the documentary. Hampton allegedly said Chappelle told her the special was
“too hot for TV.”
But Chappelle said he didn’t want to participate because
“I don’t know this n***a at all.”
Either way, Hampton is giving her side of it all on Twitter. (From bottom to top)
