British Rapper Wiley Calls Drake Out for “Holding Him Back” From Releasing Music with OVO Artist
British rapper Wiley is taking the “nice for what”-approach with Drake. Their beef, apparently, started earlier this year when Drizzy rocked the O2 Arena in Wiley’s native London. Wiley takes issue with Drake’s sudden liking to British dancehall music – including incorporating their accent and culture. During their first run-in, Drake said this in an interview about the “Godfather of Grime:”
“It’s Wiley that said that- I’ll just say his name because that was some goofy sh*t…but yeah, I just didn’t like that. I was like, ‘Dude what are you talking about?'”
Wiley’s latest gripe is that Drake is blocking the release of a song featuring OVO Sound artist, Popcaan, and former Young Money labelmate Nicki Minaj. He went on the following Twitter rant, calling Drake out:
“I’m being held back cos @Drake obviously ain’t clearing @PopcaanMusic and @NICKIMINAJ Is going to start her family it’s a dead end…I was right @Drake Culture Vulture”
Wiley continued:
“Don’t ever sign to @OVOSound they give you sh*t record deals and your only there to help @Drake with songs to keep him up and you down.Set up for you to fail…The common enemy can no longer hide”
Do you agree with Wiley’s sentiments of Drake being a culture vulture? Let us know in the comments.
