Desiigner Accuses G.O.O.D. Music of Holding Him Back, Asks for Release: “Free me!”
High-energy rapper Desiigner has had it up to here with the heads of his record labels, Kanye West‘s G.O.O.D. Music and Def Jam Records. The 22-year-old experienced near-overnight stardom in 2016 with his stand-out debut single, “Panda,” managing to stay in the news due to media controversy. But, he’s ready to return to being famous for his unique brand of mumble-rap.
He recently took to Twitter, boldly declaring that he wanted to cut ties from his labels – with an interesting spelling, of course. He tweeted:
“FREE ME FROM THIS LABLE [100 emoji]”

But this wasn’t Desiigner’s first time expressing frustrations with the music industry. Just last month, he hinted that his record label was holding him back from the release of his next album, “New English 2.” He tweeted:
“I WAITED ENOUGH AND MY FANS DID TO…I REALLY BE MAKING THE PLAYS HERE I SWEAR THANKS TO EVERYBODY THAT F*CK WIT ME CAUSE ALOT OF PEOPLE ARE FUNNY IN THIS INDUSTRY”

Ironically, his G.O.O.D. Music labelmate, Teyana Taylor, once echoed the same sentiments about the treatment of her 2018 album, “K.T.S.E.”
As for Desiigner’s release from G.O.O.D. Music, maybe Kanye West will have to consult Jesus on the decision.
