Lauryn Hill To Release Her 1st Solo Single In 5 Years
Lauryn Hill is officially returning with new music! The legendary singer is releasing her first record in 5 years. Her track will appear on the soundtrack for the upcoming film, Queen & Slim. This will be Lauryn Hill’s first solo track since 2014’s “Black Rage (Sketch).”
The soundtrack will be released Nov. 15th, while the film will be released Nov 14th. The soundtrack for Melina Matsoukas and Lena Waithe’s new film will also include music from Vince Staples featuring 6lack X Mereba, Megan Thee Stallion, Lil Baby and more.
Lauryn Hill is a singer, songwriter and rapper, known for being a member of Fugees, and for her solo album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, which won many awards and broke several sales records. The Fugees released the albums Blunted on Reality (1994), and the Grammy Award–winning The Score (1996), which sold six million copies in the U.S. Lauryn Hill rose to prominence with her rendition of the hit “Killing Me Softly”.
