Lizzo’s Lawyer Denies Claims She Stole “Truth Hurts” Lyrics & Melody: It’s Disappointing
Lizzo’s Lawyer Denies Claims She Stole ‘Truth Hurts’ Lyrics And Melody ‘It’s Disappointing’
Lizzo’s attorney is 100% sure she didn’t steal the lyrics to her #1 song “Truth Hurts.”
Cynthia Arato of Shapiro Arato Bach responded to a pair of song-writing brothers, Justin and Jeremiah Raisen who accused Lizzo of stealing some of the most popular lyrics and melodies in the hit. See those claims below.

Arato has now said in a statement,
“The Raisens are not writers of ‘Truth Hurts.’ They did not collaborate with Lizzo or anyone else to create this song, and they did not help write any of the material that they now seek to profit from, which is why they expressly renounced any claim to the work, in writing, months ago. Although it has become all too commonplace for successful artists to be subjected to these type of opportunistic claims, it is nevertheless disappointing that after all of her hard work, Lizzo has to respond to this specious claim.”
The comments also came after “Finally” singer CeCe Peniston accused Lizzo of using one of her iconic phrases in her song “Juice.”

Lizzo hasn’t responded to any of the claims. But thanks to her lawyer she might not need to. Besides, she might be too busy celebrating the success of “Truth Hurts.”

Do you think Lizzo should credit the Raisen brothers for “Truth Hurts”? Tell us in the comments!
