Shaggy Turned Down Opportunity To Work With Rihanna On Her Latest Album: I Didn’t Need To Audition, I’ll Leave That To Younger Guys

Shaggy Turned Down The Opportunity To Work With Rihanna On Her Latest Album, Says ‘I Didn’t Need To Audition, I’ll Leave That To Younger Guys’
Despite her trolling, Rihanna‘s ninth album really does exist! One person who knows that for sure is veteran reggae artist, Shaggy. The album, which fans affectionately coined, R9, is set to be full of reggae/dancehall-inspired tunes, seemingly making the “It Wasn’t Me” singer perfect for the project. However, when approached for a collaboration by RiRi’s camp, Shaggy turned down the opportunity!
Shaggy told The Daily Star he felt he was being asked to prove his ability to work with Rihanna:
“They approached me for the Rihanna project, yeah. There’s a lot of great people involved but for me I didn’t need to audition to be on the record, I’ll leave that to younger guys.”
However, he gave the Fenty Beauty mogul props for what he heard:
“From what I hear it should be good.”
We’d like to be the judge of that, but Rihanna has yet to share any updates on the status of the record. Fans lost their minds when Def Jam Records tweeted this photo – which many thought was a sign of promo.

But Rihanna continued to have fun torturing fans with anticipation!
