Lauren London, Russell Westbrook & James Harden Celebrate Nipsey Hussle’s “Victory Lap” Going Platinum
Just shy of a year since the tragic murder of Nipsey Hussle, the late rapper’s 2018 ‘Victory Lap,’ album has officially went platinum. On Friday (Jan. 11th), many celebs took to social media to celebrate Nipsey’s platinum album status including the rapper’s long-term girlfriend, ‘Games People Play,’ actress Lauren London. She shared the album’s cover in her Instagram story with the official RIAA platinum selling tag in the upper left corner. In honor of his accomplishment, London added the caption,
”Period”

London follows up her ‘Victory Lap,’ post with a full screen image of Nipsey who appears to be praying with his eye shut. London also adds a touching message sharing how she feels nearly one year since his death in March. She adds,
”Miss u”

Following news of his tragic murder, Victory Lap was number one on the iTunes albums chart, with Hussle’s 2013 mixtape, Crenshaw, sitting at number five. According to reports, the late rapper averaged about 2 million streams prior to his death but after his murder back in March of 2019, he earned 10 million streams and a whopping 57 million that following day.
In addition, other celebs including Houston Rockets’ stars James Harden and Russell Westbrook, along with JR Smith also used social media to celebrate Nipsey’s new certified platinum.

Nipsey was tragically shot and killed outside of his Marathon Clothing store on March 31st, in the Los Angeles area in Hyde Park.
As previously reported, his murder Eric Holder was indicted May 9 on one count each of murder and possession of a firearm by a felon and two counts each of attempted murder and assault with a firearm. No trailed date has been set but reportedly could be as early as later this year.
