Lena Waithe & Wife Alana Mayo Announce Split 2 Months After Marriage Announcement + Lena Allegedly Cheated

Lena Waithe and her wife of two months Alana Mayo are going their separate ways amid reports that Lena Waithe cheated.

They released a joint statement to PEOPLE Wednesday (Jan. 22):

“After careful thought and consideration, we have decided to part ways. We have nothing but support for one another and ask that you respect our privacy during this time.”

The two dated for three years before secretly tying the knot. Lena Waithe revealed they were married in November.

Waithe proposed to Alana Mayo in Tokyo on Thanksgiving Day in 2017.

Waithe also revealed that she was the first woman Alana Mayo had ever been with.

She told Wendy Williams: 

“My wife had never been with a woman before me.”

They’re said to be going their separate ways because Waithe was allegedly unfaithful on more than one occasion, according to Love B. Scott. 

An insider told the site:

“Even after they married, Lena was still buying designer gifts — Chanel, Gucci — for other women.”
