Tracee Ellis Ross Reportedly Dating ‘Black-ish’ Creator Kenya Barris
Relationship rumors for Tracee Ellis Ross and creator of ABC’s “Black-ish” Kenya Barris are swirling!
According to Love B. Scott the two are indeed an item. It’s not clear when they allegedly started dating, but Kenya Barris shockingly divorced his wife Dr. Rania “Rainbow” Barris” last fall. They were married for two decades. That wasn’t the first time he filed. He also filed back in 2014 and Rania Barris withdrew it in 2015 after they got back together.
Interestingly enough, Tracee Ellis Ross’s “Black-ish” character Dr. Rainbow Johnson is based on Rania Barris as the show is about the real-life Barris family.
Tracee Ellis Ross typically keeps her love life under wraps. While she’s only been linked to a handful of men throughout her career that spans over the last two decades, she has also proudly embraced her single life in the past. She said at the Glamour’s Women of the Year summit in 2017,
“It’s really interesting to be a woman and to get to 45 and not be married and not have kids.”
But she said she’s living in her best life anyway.
“I’m a good friend, a solid daughter, a hard worker, my credit is good, I take out the garbage before it gets smelly, I recycle, and I won a Golden Globe!”
While others try to encourage her and tell her that she still has time to become a wife and mother, she said she interprets that
“as if all that I have done and who I am doesn’t matter.”
Meanwhile, things seem to be amicable between Kenya Barris and Rania Barris. He saluted her in a birthday post amid news of his filing and wrote,
“HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my forever partner, forever friend, forever baby muva, forever beautiful people maker, forever Bowdy!!”
