Gayle King Accepts Snoop Dogg’s Apology: I Understand The Raw Emotions Caused By This Tragic Loss
Over the past few weeks, we’ve learned that rapper Snoop Dogg is incredibly passionate about his late friend, NBA champion Kobe Bryant. So passionate that he proceeded to verbally attack CBS This Morning journalist Gayle King over her controversial interview with Lisa Leslie.
.@WNBA legend @LisaLeslie told @GayleKing that Kobe Bryant's legacy is "not complicated" for her despite his 2003 rape accusation.
"I don't think it's something that we should keep hanging over his legacy." https://t.co/qj6MVvOaqX pic.twitter.com/9qtVORobLO

In fact, many celebrities expressed their disappointment in the interview, alluding that Gayle King attempted to tarnish Kobe Bryant’s legacy by repeatedly mentioning his 2003 rape allegations.
Snoop Dogg posted several videos and memes aimed at Gayle King over the interview. One of them, now deleted, stated:
“Back off, b*tch, before we come get you.”
At the urging of his mother, the Doggfather has, since, apologized to King:
Now, King has accepted Snoop’s apology! She said in a statement, according to USA Today (via CBS spokesperson Samantha Graham),
“I accept the apology and understand the raw emotions caused by this tragic loss. As a journalist, it is sometimes challenging to balance doing my job with the emotions and feelings during difficult times. I don’t always get it perfect but I’m constantly striving to do it with compassion and integrity.”
